Data Examples
Western Blot | Detection of Human/Mouse/Rat PLC-gamma 1 by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of HeLa human cervical epithelial carcinoma cell line, HepG2 human hepatocellular carcinoma cell line, NIH‑3T3 mouse embryonic fibroblast cell line, and mouse brain tissue. PVDF membrane was probed with 1 µg/mL of Human/Mouse/Rat PLC-gamma 1 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB32881) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Rat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # ). A specific band was detected for PLC-gamma 1 at approximately 120 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using . |

Background: PLC-gamma 1
PLC-gamma 1 (phospholipase C-gamma 1) cleaves the polar head group from the membrane lipid phosphatidyl-inositol 4,5-biphosphate. The consequence of this reaction is the generation of two secondary messengers, inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate and diacylglycerol, which mediate the mobilization of intracellular calcium and the activation of protein kinase C, respectively. Members of the PLC family are regulated by different signaling pathways. PLC-gamma 1 is regulated through receptor and non-receptor tyrosine kinases, while the PLC-beta isoforms are regulated by G-protein coupled receptors.
