Species Reactivity
Mouse
Specificity
Detects mouse Carboxypeptidase B1/CPB1 in direct ELISAs and Western blots. In Western blots, approximately 10% cross-reactivity with recombinant human (rh) CPB1 is observed and less than 1% cross-reactivity with rhCPA1 and recombinant mouse CPA4 is observed.

Background: Carboxypeptidase B1/CPB1
Carboxypeptidases cleave amino acids from the C-terminus of proteins and peptides and many are metalloproteases. They have distinct expression patterns and different specificities for example, preferentially cleaving aromatic (carboxypeptidase As) or basic (carboxypeptidase Bs) residues. Several, such as carboxypeptidase Xs, have lost their catalytic activity. Carboxypeptidases play important roles in digestion of food, processing of bioactive peptides and blood coagulation.
