Data Examples
Western Blot | Detection of Human GAK by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of Daudi human Burkitt's lymphoma cell line and BJAB human Burkitt's lymphoma cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 1 µg/mL of Mouse Anti-Human GAK Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB6918) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # ). A specific band was detected for GAK at approximately 144 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using . |

Background: GAK
Cyclin G-associated kinase (GAK), also known as Auxilin 2, is an approximately 140 kDa widely expressed protein that associates with CDK5. GAK promotes microtubule growth during mitotic spindle assembly and is required for centrosome maturation, chromosome congression, and mitotic progression. It also regulates the assembly and intracellular trafficking of clathrin-coated vesicles. GAK contains a Ser/Thr protein kinase domain (aa 40-314), a phosphatase tensin/auxilin domain (aa 399-566), a PTEN C2 domain (aa 570-708), and a J domain (aa 1247-1311). Within aa 258-443, human GAK shares 88% aa sequence identity with mouse and rat GAK.
