Background: TREM-3
TREM-3 is a type I transmembrane protein possessing a single extracellular Ig domain. It associates with the signal adapter molecule, DAP12, and delivers an activating signal. TREM-3 mRNA was detected in macrophage cell lines and at low levels in T cell lines, but not in NK, B cell, or mast cell lines.
