Background: RGM-A
Chicken RGM is the founding member of the RGM family of glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored axon guidance proteins. It is a disulfide-linked dimer of the N-terminal RGD-containing segment (aa 30‑149) and the C-terminal segment (aa 150‑432). RGM-A binds with high affinity to neogenin. Chicken RGM-A (aa 30‑401) shares 88% and 87% aa sequence identity with its human and mouse homologs, respectively.
